SURFACE PREPARATION

With our on-site Abrasive & Hydro blasting, we ensure an all-in-one service to our customers. With 99% of coating failures attributed to poor surface preparation, DGC pays serious attention to detail when preparing substrates to receive the specified coating or lining.

 

We ensure that the surface is prepared in accordance with international standards by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

  • Cleaning of steel substrates prior to abrasive blasting to remove any detrimental contaminants in accordance with SSPC-SP1

  • Abrasive blasting of steel substrates to achieve an ISO Sa½ or Sa3 cleanliness

  • Cleaning of concrete substrates in accordance with ASTM D4258

  • Surface preparation of concrete substrates in accordance with NACE No. 6 / SSPC-SP13

    • ASTM D4259 for Power tool, abrasive blasting or high-pressure water cleaning or water-jetting.

    • ASTM D4260 where Acid etching is required.
