Project Based

    The Dickinson Group require the services of Refractory Installation Supervisors with proven track records of successful refractory installation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure the effective execution of refractory installations within set timelines, budgets and method statements required for the individual project scope of work. The incumbent must be competent to read drawings, set out and start the installation process, proficient in report writing and adherence to the administration requirements of the installation project, including safety, progress and costing.  The role requires a strong individual that lead and motivate the workforce under his control to achieve the required quality and professional installation that Dickinson Group is renowned for.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • To participate, support and facilitate effective planning of projects regarding human resources and physical resources.
    • To assist the Project manner to plan the execution, labour and equipment allocation of the project in line with the scope of the awarded tender.
    • To assist the operational process by ensuring that labour has been reserved and that all equipment are available in a good working condition.
    • To ensure that all onsite required inductions, medicals etc. are attended.
    • To site establish and demobilise in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedures.
    • To liaise with clients. 
    • To ensure that the manpower executing the works are supplied with the necessary resources needed for them to fulfil their roles.
    • To ensure that productivity is maintained throughout the project duration.
    • To ensure that any site instructions are communicated to the Project Manager.
    • To ensure the project are handled according to all Health and Safety requirements.

    Competence Requirements, qualifications and experience: 

    • Valid driver’s licence 
    • Grade 12 or N3 with a qualification at NQF level 6
    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory roll
    • The ability to read drawings or plans and accurately identify refractory specifications as per the drawings
    • Must be willing to work on shutdown sites on various smelter plants nationally
